My orthopedist is the type of guy who, when asked to diagnose an ailment unrelated to the current appointment, is happy to answer questions. So, as he was shooting my thumb full of cortisone less than five minutes after diagnosing my second ailment, he started asking me random questions.
What do you do?... What do you write about?... You ever been to Amalfi? Have you ever stayed at the Santa Caterina? You gotta stay at the Santa Caterina! And then go to Marina Grande for dinner!

Run by the Gambardella family since 1904, the five-star Hotel Santa Caterina (website | Expedia) has one of the best locations on the Amalfi Coast.
Along with the hotel, Ristorante Marina Grande is an Amalfi institution. The award-winning beachfront restaurant continues to receive accolades from Lonely Planet and Michelin.
Rates at the Santa Caterina range from 2-10 orthopedic visits, while a night out at Marina Grande runs 1-2 orthopedic visits. All rates are in US dollars, exclusive of deductibles.

I love writing about Italy. Unfortunately, this passion of mine does not pay (all of) the bills—neither the visits with my orthopedist nor the upcoming college tuition payments (yikes!).
So, I am looking for a new day job to help me fill in the financial gaps. Do you know anyone hiring for remote positions or locally in the DC area? If so, please let me know. If you’re reading this in your email, just reply to it. Otherwise, contact me here.
I feel humbled, indeed embarrassed, to have to ask this here. But everything I’ve read about networking while in search of a salary says to ask everyone you know (and don’t know) about job leads. So, thank you in advance for your help.
A presto,
Melanie
