My name is Melanie Renzulli and I have been writing about Italy and other destinations for more than 25 years.

Italy In Your Inbox, the original name of this newsletter, is an extension of Italofile, my blog about Italy travel, art, culture, and lifestyle topics. Italofile has been online since 2006 and I often link to posts on there.

Here is where I write about all of the timely bits that don’t make it onto my website, from current events to museum openings to personal anecdotes. Substack is also a great place to discover new writers—and be discovered, too!

As of 2025, I am also writing more and more about travel in general—particularly in northern Europe and Germany. So, I’ve renamed this newsletter so that it encompasses all that I do and all that I am interested in—from music in New Orleans to vultures in Ancient Rome.

Miss Adventures is yet another one of my blogs. Miss Adventures is also a handle I’ve used on several platforms since I first bought the missadventures.com domain name in the late 1990s. 🤓
